Keeping C-5 Maintenance Trainer technical documentation current is among Nakuuruq’s responsibilities at their Training Systems Support Center (TSSC). The includes hundreds of operations and technical manuals and thousands of engineering drawings. During a recent system concurrency upgrade, Nakuuruq personnel at Travis AFB, Dover AFB and Lackland AFB undertook the necessary rewriting task. Because of their experience, skills and knowledge of the software involved, this effort—according to the Contractor Performance Assessment Report (CPAR): “is saving the government at a minimum one million dollars.”
Non-proprietary software keeps costs competitive
Unlike other government contractors, any software or hardware designed by Nakuuruq or its subcontractors is non-proprietary and solely owned by the government upon acceptance and delivery. This keeps the government from being beholden to a single contractor, enabling it to always seek out the most competitive price for continued development and upgrades.
